This herb can be use to make tea, syrup, and/or grind up to make capsules.
Bring 2 cups of elderberries to a rapid boil add 1 tsp of elderberries, boil for 2, and steep for 15 - 30 minutes.
1/2 cup dried elderberries
2 cups of spring water
5 whole cloves or 1 tsp of powder clove
1 inch knob of ginger root, or dried ginger root
1/2 cup of Agave or Date syrup
Add dried elderberries, water, cloves and ginger to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes uncovered. Your syrup will have reduced by about half.
Strain off the liquid, using the back of your spoon to press any juice from the berries. Cool slightly and add in Agave or Date Syrup. Stir until combined. Store in a sealed, glass jar in the refrigerator.
