Discover the universally beloved comfort of Chamomile Flower Tea, made from the delicate, daisy-like blossoms of the Matricaria recutita plant (German Chamomile). Prized since ancient times, Chamomile is perhaps the world's most famous herbal remedy for relaxation and rest.

This naturally caffeine-free herbal infusion offers a light, crisp, and slightly fruity flavor with floral, apple-like notes. Chamomile is traditionally celebrated for its:

  • Relaxation & Sleep Aid: It contains the antioxidant apigenin, which is thought to bind to certain receptors in the brain that promote sleepiness and reduce insomnia.

  • Soothing Digestant: Traditionally used to calm nervous stomachs, ease minor digestive discomfort, and promote overall gastrointestinal comfort.

  • General Calming Properties: Excellent for winding down after a stressful day, promoting a sense of peace, and easing minor anxiety.

Enjoy the sweet, gentle essence of Chamomile for a moment of quiet serenity.

Tea Preparation Directions

Preparing Chamomile tea is simple, but covering your steep helps retain the beneficial volatile oils.

1. Classic Hot Infusion

  • Measure: Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of dried Chamomile flowers (they are light and fluffy) per 8 ounces (1 cup) of water into an infuser, tea bag, or the bottom of your mug/pot.

  • Heat: Bring fresh, filtered water to just below a boil (about 200°F or 93°C).

  • Pour & Steep: Pour the hot water over the flowers. Cover and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Covering the mug retains the beneficial steam and oils.

  • Strain: Remove the infuser or strain the tea into a fresh mug.

  • Enjoy: Sip warm. Chamomile is excellent on its own or subtly sweetened with honey.

2. Iced Chamomile Refresher

  • Concentrate: Use 3 tablespoons of Chamomile flowers per 8 ounces of hot water. Steep for 10 minutes, covered, and strain.

  • Chill: Allow the concentrate to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  • Serve: Pour the chilled concentrate over ice and dilute with cold water to your preferred strength. Garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint.

Note: If you have allergies to plants in the daisy family (like ragweed, marigolds, or chrysanthemums), consult a doctor before consuming Chamomile.
